Girona. Sustainable Food System

Riudellots de la Selva City Council, through the Foodlab-Centre for Industrial Gastronomic Innovation (CINGi), participates as a partner in the PECT “Girona, Sustainable Food System” with the project “Dynamization of the ecosystem of industrial gastronomy FOODLAB”.
This dynamization project works around the two strategic axes of Foodlab-CINGi, innovation and the food industry, through four groups of services and activities.

1. Innovation dynamics

Multidisciplinary groups consisting of representatives of the value network of the agri-food chain and related sectors, based on detected needs, will find solutions in the form of new products, new services, new logistics processes, new technological processes.  
One of the dynamics to be carried out is to find innovation solutions to meet the needs of the tourism sector in relation to 4th and 5th range products.

2. Testing and co-creation. Resource: workshop

Highlighting the workshop and the other facilities available in the space where Foodlab-CINGi is located to provide testing and co-creation services of products focused on the consumer. The aim is to contribute to the processes of validation of prototypes, concept tests, products and services in the innovation and marketing processes of companies.

3. Acceleration of projects

Project acceleration program focused on the food industry. Dynamization of the coworking space.

4. Open innovation

Promote synergies between companies and startups for corporate acceleration and for the growth of startups.  
Promotion of the Foodlab-CINGi Community of Ambassadors (experts, investors, different groups of interest in the innovation ecosystem of the food sector, suppliers and consumers).  

Services funded within the PECT Project “Girona, sustainable food system”. “Dynamization of the ecosystem of industrial gastronomy Foodlab” Project. This project is 50% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union within the framework of the ERDF Operational Programme of Catalonia 2014-2020. Investment objective in growth and employment. And 25% by the Diputació de Girona.
